Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some common questions we have been asked.  If there are any questions or concerns that aren’t covered below, please email info@connemaraglamping.ie

Are children welcome?2021-10-12T15:33:41+00:00

Children 8 and over are welcome.

Do you take pets?2021-10-12T15:34:10+00:00

We love dogs but not on our site so please don’t be tempted to sneak them in.

How near is the beach?2021-10-12T15:34:26+00:00

15-20 minutes walk – its sandy, safe and perfect for swimming.

Is there Wifi in the tents?2021-10-12T15:34:55+00:00

We supply a 4G modem down on the site and all tents have a USB charging point. If you have zoom meetings we have wifi available in our office.

Is the site secure?2021-10-12T15:36:27+00:00

The site is secluded and we live there so we feel that it is as safe as can be. Please note that you are staying in a tent without secure storage spaces and the car park is some distance away so please look after any valuables you bring with you.

Are towels provided?2021-10-12T15:36:59+00:00

Yes and if you want a beach towel please just ask.

Is all accommodation non-smoking?2021-10-12T15:37:55+00:00

The entire site is non-smoking.

Do you provide facilities for washing/drying?2021-10-12T15:40:16+00:00

Generally not for short stays. There are launderette type machines and dryers nearby at petrol stations and supermarkets readily available for small charge.

What type of cooking facilities are there?2021-10-12T15:41:08+00:00

We are unable to use our woodburning stoves for insurance purposes. Each tent has a two ring induction hob and a toaster. There is a communal microwave/combi oven in our ‘Little House’ building. We also have a pizza oven available to hire separately. You can always BBQ on the local beach.

What are your check in and check out times?2021-10-12T15:42:17+00:00

Arrival is between 4-7 pm.

Departure is 10 am.

Will we need a car?2021-10-12T15:42:56+00:00

We recommend having your own transport to get the most from your visit. We are on the 424 bus from Galway (Tully Cross) so you can arrive by public transport for the weekend.

What extras should we bring along?2021-10-12T15:43:19+00:00

This is camping – even in luxury – so bring suitable layers of clothing – we will send you a suggested kit list of personal items once you have booked to make your preparations easier but all your living stuff is here.

Do we have to clean the tents when we leave?2021-10-12T15:43:36+00:00

We expect our guests to look after our tents and leave everything as they find it, cleaning spills and stains as they go. We ask that the washing up is done and all rubbish and recycling is clean and placed in the correct bins. If you take more than one tent please ensure that any items that have migrated from one tent to another make their way back home again.

Can we pitch our own tents on site as well?2021-10-12T15:43:54+00:00

Sorry but we don’t allow extra tents on site. Everyone in your party must have a booked bed.

Can we park beside the tent?2021-10-12T15:44:31+00:00

On arrival you are welcome to drive down to unload close to the tents but there is no proper parking there.

Why do you take a non-refundable deposit?2021-10-12T15:44:59+00:00

This is something we have had to introduce because of people multi-booking holidays and then cancelling nearer the date.

Is this the same as the damages deposit?2021-10-12T15:45:19+00:00

No – we take a damages deposit which covers us in the event that we have to replace significant items, rehouse the next guests or get emergency cleaners in at extra cost. This is returned to you within a week of your visit. We don’t charge you for small breakages like the odd glass or plate – that’s just wear and tear. So far we have refunded everyone in full.
